WHO SAYS TOO MANY COOKS SPOIL THE BROTH?
We number at least a dozen (más o menos) residents of beautiful San Carlos who gather every month or so to prepare a delicious meal, taking turns providing the instructions. Already in our first year we've done Sicilian Spaghetti, Chiles Rellenos, dozens of appetizers, Chinese Eggrolls, a prizewinning Luna Llena Chili, and a whole neighborhood of Gingerbread Houses. We practice our Spanish with our Mexican members, collect canned goods for the local orphanages and in general have a wonderful time. When it's a Chop Chop day, we avoid planning anything else!

Blanca Goes Pro
2/11/12: While the rest of us are content to cook for family and friends, one of our members decided to open her own restaurant. Agave Azul opened last November, and Blanca has been working hard, creating a new dining room, developing a menu, installing a pizza oven and offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Today several of us got together at Agave Azul for lunch, and toasted Blanca's enterprise. Here she is with Kris, making pizzas. We're so proud of her! See the Blog for more pictures.
Judy's Indonesian Cooking Demonstration
2/5/12: We're lucky to have some members in our cooking club from other parts of the world, like Annie from Germany, Blanca of Mexico and Judy, who came from Dutch Indonesia. This week Judy demonstrated three dishes from Indonesia, making plenty for us to feast on, and supplying recipes.

Plans announced for the 2012 Season! Go to BLOG for details
11/26/11: Several Chop Chop members who have arrived in town met at Susan's to share hors d'oeuvres and ideas, and came up with an agenda for the 2011-2012 winter/spring season (subject to change, of course). It was unanimously agreed we will not participate in the Chili Cookoff in February, but may contribute gift baskets for the SBPA to sell. Diana took notes and sent out a report, so check the Blog (click on the menu above) for more.
